Discuss an exercise program with your doctor before start. Try to pick a sport or activity that you enjoy. Team or school sports are good since they will help you to keep a routine.

When you exercise, try to keep your heart rate up and work up a sweat.

If you are young and healthy, you should exercise for 45 minutes to one hour on most days of the week.

However, even moderate amounts of exercise are good for you...like taking the stairs instead of the elevator or going for a walk with your friends instead of playing video games.

Don't let the cold winter months stop you from exercising!

Get an exercise video, walk up and down your stairs at home with the radio on, or play an indoor sport at school or at the local gym.

You can even try karate, traditional hmong dance, soccer, volleyball, or basketball. Choose an activity you enjoy!
